Self Health Empowerment Exercises - Day 3

Develop Your Hand-Ki

Now that you have better control over the energy that moves the vital energy through your meridian system and are working to fortify your ability to hold that energy in your center, let us consider "hand-ki".

The area of the abdomen into which you breathe, we refer to as the Tan Den. It is our physical center. It is from here our energy moves and to which it returns.

When we have smooth flowing vital energy or "Ki", it is said we have health. Blockages to that energy from emotional or other trauma need to be reduced and removed.

There is a direct connection from Tan Den to our hands. Today's lesson will help you realize and develop that connection.

Todays simple practice:
Lie on your back. Place your hands palms facing over your abdomen. Or, if you feel confident in the ability to hold your pelvis in the twelve o'clock position while seated in a chair or tailor style on the floor, do so with your palms facing and slightly apart.

I started by putting my flat palms together feeling for the pulses at each finger tip. Once I was able to feel the pulses at the tips, I moved my hands slightly apart.

Now feel for the energy pulsing between/through your palms. Simply breathe deeply and relax. Any thoughts that arrive get to pass unnoticed.

Perform your breathing exercise for five minutes in this posture remaining aware of the feeling between your hands.

Thank you for joining me today. Let your day unfold and be present in the moment.
